I was born in 1959 in northern Russia on the Kola Peninsula, as the third child of the Colonel-Lieutenant Goldenberg family. My mother worked as a teacher.
Even as a child I dreamed of becoming a musician. At the age fourteen I left my parents, who remained in Ukraine, and went to the city of Leningrad (today’s St. Petersburg). I started to work on my dream.

In the specialized music school of the Rimsky-Korsakov State Conservatory I acquired extensive knowledge in two professions: theory of music and piano. At the same time I worked as a mime in the world-famous Kirov Theatre. I became familiar with a wide range of opera and ballet repertoire and got an experience of being on the stage. I was lucky to study with the best professors at the Rimsky-Korsakov State Conservatory. Professor Yusef Cohn himself was my thesis advisor in 1984.

At the same year I married. I am the father of three children. All of them delight their parents with their successes.

After compulsory military service, I worked as a music teacher in the city of Leningrad and also performed with many other musicians on various stages. In 1988 I got the position of artistic director of the Romani theater in Leningrad. I was active there not only as a director, but also as a stage pianist.

In 1992 my family and I relocated to Germany. Here we found our new home. For the last fifteen years I have been active as a musician at the Theater Apron and (if need be!) I was an actor as well.

I am connected in a long-standing collaboration with Akim Camara, Dimitri Kharitonov, Katrin Schinköth-Haase, Heidrun von Strauch, Jürgen Seydewitz, Juri Zemski and other musicians, singers and other pleasant stage partners.

As a solo pianist and organist I played in many theaters, churches and venues in the region. I have given nationwide theater performances and concerts with different stage partners. The longest journey as a foreign tour took me to Vietnam with the stage play "Casablanca" by Theatre Apron.

I am looking forward to each new appearance on a stage.
